Camanna CS Acapella - 2010

Acapella's side udder - 2010 Acapella's rear udder - 2010

Born:
1/29/06       Height:  20"       Registered: ADGA, AGS

Acapella became part of my herd as a three-year-old.  She had never been led and to this day, my biggest challenge with her is "walking pretty".  I have humbled myself and taken her in the show ring and tried my best to get her head up and to lead without "dragging and plowing" but can't claim success yet.  Despite her terrible antics in the show ring, the judges sometimes see past it and have awarded her a grand and several reserve grand championships.  If and when we get past this obstacle, I feel Acapella will shine in the show ring.  She is one of my shortest does and is slightly "old style" in that respect, but she has tons of dairy character and is angular and stylish.  Like her lovely paternal half sisters, Acapella is also blessed with a wonderful mammary system.  This doe produces a lot of milk for being small and only a second freshener.  She has one of those wonderful udders that are easy to milk, soft, and empty out quickly and completly.  I can't complain about her  attachments, medial division, teat placement, or anything else about her capacious udder.  Acapella also has nearly perfect feet and legs and has had the compliments of several judges in that area.  Long body, great topline, tight shoulders - Acapella has all of this and more.  Watch this girl in the showring, if I ever get her to "walk pretty".

Camanna CT Jocelyn - 2011

Jocelyn's rear udder - 2011

Born: 3/18/08    Height: 20 1/4"    Registered: ADGA, AGS

Josie is one of the cutest little goats I have ever seen. Part of it is her personality. Her her big brown eyes and adorable face just add to her charm. Jostan, my 12-year-old son, selected Josie to be his 4H goat when she was a newborn kid. I am more pleased with his selection as she matures. Wow, this girl can make milk!  Josie is easy to milk and has persistant production.  We finally got Josie in the show ring in 2011 and she started off by winning Grand Champion in a large show and the following weekend she won a second grand champion as well as a reserve.  The judges LOVED her mammary system, especially the height of her rear udder attachment.  Judges also commented on Josie's balance and dairy character.  Josie is a permanent member of our farm family.

Camanna CS Chocolate ChaCha - 2011

ChaCha's rear udder - 2011

Born: 4/6/07   Height: 21 1/4"   Registered: ADGA, AGS

ChaCha has always been a favorite but never made it into the show ring until 2011.  In her very first show, she promptly won an ADGA reserve grand champion award in a big Nigerian Specialty Show. Although stretched too much in her photo above, you can see her nice topline, great extension of her brisket, excellent legs, and very nice combination of depth, width, and length of body. ChaCha has perfect teat size, placement, and lovely medial division. Her udder attachments are also excellent but could be a little smoother blended into her body. Judges commented on her very nice dairy character and all eight judges put ChaCha at the head of her class. We have always loved ChaCha and are happy to see she is admired in the show ring as well.

Camanna FD Blue Veronica - 2009   Veronica's udder - 2009

Born: 6/17/05      Height:  20 1/4"    Registered:ADGA,AGS
blue eyed

Veronica's flashy color pattern and conformation are eye catching but where she really stands out is actually something felt and not seen. This little doe has splendid dairy character with flat bones, nice ribbing, and loose, thin skin.  In addition, Veronica has very good feet and legs and a nice level topline.  Check out this little gal's well extended brisket.  If I could improve this blue eyed doe's conformation, I would give her sharper withers and tighter shoulders and more length of body. Although I am happy with the capacity, fore and rear attachments, ease of milking, and general appearance of Veronica's first freshening udder, I expect her to have a fuller rear udder and more medial division with her next lactation. Flash Dancer's daughters' udders take a while to reach their potential but when they do, WOW!  I consider Veronica one of my best brood does.  She always produces kids with better conformation than herself, no matter what buck I breed her to.  We just adore this little gal and are happy to have her as part of our herd.

Camanna SI Desert Rose - 2008
Rosie's udder - 2008

Born: 3/5/06      Height: 21 1/4"      Registered: ADGA, AGS

I know you aren't supposed to have favorite kids, but this little gal stole my heart. Starting when Rosie was just two days old (and only two pounds), this quadruplet doe kid made a habit of squeezing out of her pen and following us around as we did chores. Eventually she grew too big to squeeze out of her pen but she still has the same awesome personality. Besides her endearing personality, check out Rosie's pedigree full of champions and her correct and stylish conformation! Rosie has always done very well in the showring and recently was first in her class all three times she was shown . Rosie did not disappoint me when she freshened. Her udder is very snuggly attahced and is high and wide in the rear. Rosie's udder capacity and production are about average for a first freshener. It would be nice of Rosie's teats were bigger but they will get better with time and milking. Unlike her dam, Bianca, who is on the tall side, Rosie is staying smaller like her sire.

Camanna CS Luna - 2011

Luna's rear udder - 2011

    Born:
 2/4/2006    Height:  21 1/4"     Registered:  ADGA

Luna came back to me in the fall of 2010 after leaving at 10 days of age as a bottle baby.  Already, she is a favorite with her loving personality and gentle disposition. This lovely white lady (with pinto colored skin) is very dairy and has a beautiful front end assembly and uphill stance and wedge shaped body.  Luna is plenty long and level and stands on very good feet and legs.  In her first show weekend, she won an ADGA Grand Champion leg, despite being a brat in the show ring.  Luna has perfect texture to her mammary system and is easy to milk out, despite her smaller teats.  Although she is a mature doe, this is only her second lactation after starting her life mostly as a special pet.  Her mammary system shows a lot of promise with its well placed teats, nice medial division, and good attachments and capacity.  I am so happy to have Luna as part of my herd and part of my group of lovely Crescendo daughters.  Luna and two of her half sisters were awarded the top honor in the "get of sire" class at the big Nigerian 2011 Specialty Show in Salem, OR.
