ChaCha is very unhappy in this picture and does not look like her beautiful self.  ChaCha is nice all around but I think her strength is her lovely dairy character.  She has the flat bones, wide spaced ribbing, long, lean neck, in-curving thigh, and thin skin that we look for in dairy animals.  I know her rump looks quite steep in the photo and granted, ideally it could be more level, but it isn't as bad as the photo shows.  I would like to see a little more length of body on this doeling but it is more than adequate.  Boogie, ChaCha's dam, has an incredible udder that is very capacious, very well attached, and has big, perfectly placed and easy to milk teats.  I will be absolutely thrilled if ChaCha inherits her dam's incredible udder. 

 

We brought Izzy home at about a week of age and quickly fell in love with her gentle and sweet disposition.  I originally picked out Izzy because I could feel her lovely dairy character, even as a tiny kid.  I also selected Izzy on her bloodlines - her dam, Bear Cat, is my doe Moonlight Molly's full sister and they are both top quality show does.  And I couldn't resist another Lion King daughter. . . I think Izzy has very correct conformation but in the picture above, she  appears to be weak in the loin area.  I would have to look at Izzy very critically to find anything I would want to change about her conformation.  I am excited to watch this special doeling mature and freshen.

Sonata was a spitfire as a little kid and took forever to tame down but it was worth it.  She is a sweetheart now and runs up for attention as fast as any of them.  Sonata placed second, in a class of 24 junior doe kids, at the Oregon State Fair in September.  Her dam, Moonlight Molly, is almost a finished champion and I have hopes that Sonata will follow suit.  I like a lot about Sonata's conformation but as is my routine, I try to also tell of areas where they could be stronger.  Ideally, I would like to see Sonata sharper in the withers and tighter in the shoulders.  There is a whole line-up of awesome mammary systems behind this gal so her udder should be wonderful.  With her big, dark eyes and fawn coloring, Sonata reminds me of a deer.  
 

I will try to get a picture of Gypsy soon.  This pretty gal is a light brown color with some splashes of white on her sides.  Gypsy's dam, Guinevere, is 11-years-old doe, so I was thrilled when she had triplet doe kids for me.  Guinevere has some older bloodlines that I want to add to my herd.  To sweeten the deal, Gypsy's sire, Flash Dancer, has been producing daughters with wonderful udders and dairy character.  Gypsy is an elegant and correct doeling with lovely dairyness.  I like her sharp withers, tight shoulders, level topline, and strong feet and legs.  I would like to see more width to her rump and maybe a little more width between her hocks but she certainly isn't bad.  I just adore this little gal and look forward to having her in my herd for a long time.
