Domingo Dakota Wind, ADGA, AGS Champion Nigerian Dwarf Domingo Dakota Wind, ADGA, AGS, champion Nigerian Dwarf
nine-years-old - 2005

AGS Master Champion and ADGA Champion Senior Doe!

Born: 2/19/96       Height: 22 1/4"      Registerd: ADGA, AGS

Dakota has always been our favorite milk goat but now she has proven herself in the show ring as well.  She is our first AGS Master Champion and ADGA Champion doe and is very deserving of those titles.  From 2004 - 2007, Dakota won "Best of Breed" at the Oregon State Fair.  In fact, Dakota won "Best of Breed" in every Nigerian show she competed in during that time period.  You would be hard pressed to find a Nigerian who can compete with Dakota’s high and persistent milk production and her incredible ease of milking.  Even as a twelve-year-old, Dakota peaked at over six pounds daily of 5.5% butterfat milk.  We often call Dakota our “Holstein”.  Dakota easily earned her milking star on a one day milk test as a nine-year-old.  This old doe's conformation is sharp and dairy.  Show judges regularly comment on Dakota's excellent udder, shoulders, feet and legs and comment that she looks about four years of age, not twelve.  Ideally, Dakota could be longer bodied and move level across her topline.  Although this flashy gal is a bit on the tall side, she is still under the AGS height limit.  Now that Dakota is over 13-years-old and starting to show her age, she will be retired to "rest in green pastures".

Dakota has won at least 10 Best of Breed and Best Udder awards.  I should have kept count!

          Tasonni's rear udder - 2009

Born: 2/16/06      Registered: ADGA, AGS      blue eyed

Tasonni combines near ideal general appearance with awesome feet and legs, a nice front end with sharp withers and tight shoulders, and has very good dairy character to top it off. Tasonni has some very nice milking genetics in her pedigree and this young doe's udder was not a disappointment when she freshened. Tasonni has a very well attached udder, both fore and rear. She has large, reasonably well placed teats and is easy to hand milk. As is typically of her bloodline, the medial takes awhile to fully develop so I expect an even more impressive udder with future freshenings. When her udder is totally full, Tasonni shows wonderful capacity. Ideally, her teats would be placed a bit closer to the medial of her udder.

CH Camanna CS Moonlight Sonata - 2009   Sonata's rear udder - 2009
                                2-year-old - 2009

Born: 5/23/07      Registered: ADGA, AGS

Sonata was decribed by many people, including competitors and judges at the show this year as "exquisite" and I agree with them.  Sonata is elegant and classy with tons of dairy character.  With her big, dark eyes and fawn coloring, Sonata reminds me of a deer.  Her feet and legs are pretty close to perfect (when she is standing properly) and her udder is just what I am breeding for.  I would like to have a whole herd of does with udders like hers.  Her mammary system is well attahced, properly shaped with lovely texture and proper teat placement and nice medial division.  Her milk production is awesome and her udder capacity is amazing for a two-year-old.  To top it off, Sonata is very easy to milk, even when very full.  This pretty gal was a spitfire as a little kid and took forever to tame down but it was worth it.  She is a sweetheart now and runs up for attention as fast as any of them.  She is a very attentive mother and can be very noisy when she misses her kids.  I like a lot about Sonata's conformation but as is my routine with my goats, I try to also tell of areas where they could be stronger.  Ideally, I would like to see Sonata sharper in the withers and tighter in the shoulders and elbows.  Otherwise, I am extremely pleased with this gorgeous girl and look forward to showing her in some champion challenge show classes in the future.
